Boston Cream Cheese Pie

  1. Grease bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Prepare cake mix as directed on package; pour batter evenly into springform pan.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
  4. Combine cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla, mixing at medium speed on electric mixer until well blended.
  5. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Blend in sour cream; pour over cake layer.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
  8. Loosen cake from rim of pan, cool before remiving rim of pan.
  9. Bring water to a boil in bottom of double boiler.
  10. Remove from heat.
  11. Melt chocolate with margarine in top of double boiler, stirring until smooth.
  12. Add water and remaining ingredients, mix well.
  13. Spread over cheesecake.
  14. Chill several hours.
  15. Garnish with strawberries if desired.
