Bread Stuffing 101 Recipe

  1. In a large skillet, heat the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add in the onion and celery.
  3. Cook, stirring often, till the onion is golden brown, about 10 min.
  4. Scrape the vegetables and butter into a large bowl.
  5. Add in the stuffing and parsley.
  6. Stir in sufficient of the stock to moisten the stuffing, about 2 1/2 c..
  7. Season with the poultry seasoning, if you like, and salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Use to stuff turkey, or possibly place in a buttered baking dish, drizzle with an additional 1/2 c. stock, cover, and a bake as a side dish.
  9. Yield: 10 c.:Homemade Poultry Seasoning: Combine 1 tsp.
  10. each crumbled dry rosemary, crumbled dry sage, dry thyme, dry marjoram, and celery salt with 1/4 tsp.
  11. freshly milled black pepper.
  12. Crush together in a mortar and pestle, mini-food processor, or possibly spice grinder.
