Best Ever Onion Soup Recipe

  1. Saute/fry butter and sliced onions in large soup pot for 1 1/2 hrs.
  2. Add in pepper, paprika, bay leaf, flour, wine, and salt.
  3. Saute/fry for 10 min.
  4. Add in beef bouillon and simmer for 2 hrs.
  5. Adjust color with Kitchen Bouquet.
  6. Season with salt to taste.
  7. Chill overnight.
  8. Skim off any fat which has accumulated.
  9. To serve, fill oven-proof bowl with 8 ounce.
  10. warm soup.
  11. Top with French bread slice and 1 1/2 ounce.
  12. Swiss cheese.
  13. Place under broiler till cheese is melted and bubbly.
