Caramel Apple Bars Recipe

  1. In mixing bowl, cream butter, shortning, and brown sugar, till fluffy.
  2. Add in flour, oats, salt, cinnamon, soda; mix well.
  3. Stir in pecans if you like.
  4. Set aside 2 c. of crumb mix.
  5. Press remaining mix into an ungreased 9X13 pan.
  6. For filling toss apples with flour; spoon over the crust, drizzle carmel topping over apples.
  7. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mix.
  8. Bake 400 for 25-30 min or possibly till lightly browned, cold before cutting.
