Vegetable, Barley and Chicken Chowder

  1. Combine all ingredients except chicken in heavy large pot or Dutch oven.
  2. Bring to boil over medium-high-heat, breaking up tomatoes with back of spoon.
  3. Reduce heat to medium.
  4. Simmer until all vegetable and legumes are tender and soup is thick, stirring occasionally, about 45 minutes.
  5. Mix in chicken.
  6. Season soup to taste with salt and pepper.
