Spice Ice Cream

  1. Combine milk and cream in a saucepan.
  2. Add spices and half the sugar.
  3. Stir and bring to a boil.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Combine remaining sugar and egg yolks.
  6. Beat for about 2 minutes, or until thoroughly combined.
  7. Gradually add milk mixture to egg-yolk mixture.
  8. Stir to combine and return to saucepan.
  9. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture coats the back of a spoon.
  10. Be careful not to let mixture boil.
  11. Cool and pour into an ice-cream machine.
  12. Follow manufacturers directions.
