Lemon Sauce

  1. Whisk sugar and cornstarch in small saucepan to blend.
  2. Add 3/4 cup water.
  3. Whisk over medium-high heat until mixture thickens and boils, about 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in lemon juice, lemon slices and grated lemon peel.
  5. Cool.
  6. (Can be prepared 1 day ahead.
  7. Cover and chill.
  8. Bring to room temperature before serving.)
