Tania's Onion Soup

  1. Saute onion rings in butter over low heat until yellow.
  2. Slowly add bouillon and water.
  3. Heat until simmering, then add bouillon cubes and pepper.
  4. Cover and cook for 20 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle rounds of bread with grated cheese and place under broiler.
  6. Heat until golden brown.
  7. Top each serving with a toast round.
  8. Serve with grated parmesan cheese on the side, if desired.
