Orange-Blossom Oranges

  1. Combine first 3 ingredients in medium saucepan.
  2. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  3. Simmer until liquid is reduced to generous 1 cup, about 15 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in orange flower water.
  5. Cover; chill until cold.
  6. Discard anise.
  7. (Can be prepared 1 day ahead.)
  8. Using small knife, cut off peel and white pith from oranges.
  9. Slice oranges crosswise into 1/3-inch-thick rounds.
  10. Set in bowls.
  11. Spoon syrup over.
  12. Top with mint.
