Penny Rolls recipe from Aunt Nellie
- 2 cup boiling water
- 2 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp shortening
- 1/2 cup sugar a little less
- 1 1/2 packages dry yeast
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 6 cup flour, gradually (2 cups at a time) for dark rolls, use 2 cups whole wheat, 4 cups white flour.
- add salt, shortening and sugar to boiling water until melted.
- COOL!
- Add eggs and yeast to above
- Knead until not too sticky.
- Put in large greased bowl to rise.

- 24 hour method.
- Leave set in refrigerator over night.
- Make penny rolls by rolling a 2 tsp cut dough dipping in butter.
- and putting in loaf pan let rise at least 2 hours.

- Right away.
- Make penny Rolls, dip each roll in butter touching each other put in loaf pans.
- Bake 10 minutes @ 400F, 15 minutes for 350F
