Chicken A La King Recipe
- 2 tbsp. butter (I use Fleischmann's light butter)
- 3 tbsp. flour
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 3/4 c. half and half (I use skim lowfat milk, canned)
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 teaspoon instant chicken bouillon
- 2 c. cut up chicken or possibly turkey
- 1 can cut up mushroom stems & pcs, liquid removed
- 2 tbsp. finely minced pimiento
- You can use puff pastry shells or possibly muffins.
- To Serve: Place butter in bowl (medium).
- Microwave at High 30 seconds, blend in flour, salt, and pepper.
- Gradually stir in half and half, water and instant bouillon.
- Micro Medium High till thick, 4 to 6 min, stirring once.
- Stir in chicken, mushrooms and pimientos.
- Micro at Medium High 5 to 8 min, stirring once.
- Serve over muffins or possibly pastry shells.
- Serves 4.
