Salisbury Steak
- 1 lb ground hamburger meat
- 3 clove garlic chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 worcestershire sauce + 1 tablespoon
- 1 can chicken broth
- 3 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 small container mushrooms chopped
- 1/2 onion sliced
- 1/4 cup marsala wine
- 5 slice provolone cheese optional
- In large bowl beat egg stir in a few dashes of worscetshire sauce, 2 cloves of chopped garlic a pinch of salt and pepper
- Crumble chop meat over top of egg mixture and combine all by hand, form into patties
- In large skillet heat 1 tablespoons oil till hot then add patties
- Cook until browned on both sides but not cooked through
- Remove from pan onto plate
- Drain oil from pan and wipe clean
- In bowl combine chicken broth ketchup worcestershire sauce an flour wisk together well
- Pour into the skillet used to cook patties cook on medium low heat until it starts to thicken then return patties to pan, cover and simmer 15 min flipping once adding cheese slice on top last 5 min to melt
- Meanwhile in separate skillet melt butter then sautee onions mushrooms and remaining garlic until soft then add marsala wine cook 2-3 min
- Serve patties topped with onion and mushroom mixture and smothered in sauce
- As a side I like to boil noodles drain add a few scoops of the salisbury sauce and sprinkle with parmesean
