Bubble And Squeak Recipe
- 1 1/2 lb Potatoes, peeled and chunked
- 1 lb Green cabbage, roughly minced
- 1 sm Onion, peeled and minced Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lrg Egg
- 1 knob butter (abt 2 Tbsp.)
- Cook potatoes in salted water till soft.
- Drain and mash,if desire, or possibly leave in chunks.
- Plunge the cabbage into boiling water (salted).
- Cook for 5 mins.
- drain well and finely chop.
- (like for slaw) Mix potatoes and cabbage with the onion.
- Add in seasoning and the egg.
- Put the mix in frying pan.
- (It needs to be a rather deep pan).
- Fry in butter till golden.
- NOW: while it is frying, listen to the sounds it makes.
- You will here why it is called Bubble and Squeak!
