French-Fried Mushrooms

  1. In shallow dish, beat egg with milk and salt.
  2. In another dish, roll mushrooms in flour.
  3. Dip mushrooms in egg mixture and coat with cornflake crumbs.
  4. Fry in hot oil or shortening in fryer for 1 to 2 minutes until golden.
  5. Drain.
  6. Sprinkle with salt to taste and grated parmesan cheese.
  7. Serve with lemon wedges, if desired.
