Baked Marinated Tofu Recipe

  1. Drain tofu.
  2. Cut in half horizontally to make 2 pcs.
  3. Line baking sheet with 5 layers of paper towels.
  4. Place tofu on towels; cover with additional towel or possibly layer of paper towels.
  5. Place second baking sheet on top of tofu.
  6. Place heavy weights (canned goods, cast-iron skillet, bottled water) on top of baking sheet.
  7. Allow to sit 1 hour or possibly longer (chill if longer than 1 hour.)
  8. Unwrap tofu; remove towels.
  9. Tofu is ready to be marinated in bottled marinade, dry seasoning mix, barbecue sauce, a sauce of your own invention or possibly the marinades which follow.
  10. Marinate tofu for at least 15 min unrefrigerated or possibly up to 5 days, refrigerated.
  11. Bake at 400 degrees on lightly oiled baking sheet for 1 hour.
  12. The tofu is now ready to be cubed for use in salads, stir fries or possibly stews, sliced thin for use as a sandwich filling; or possibly can be grilled as cutlets.
  13. Makes 4 servings or possibly about3 ounces each, 3 grams of fat per piece.
