Bob Hope's Lemon Pie

  1. Combine cornstarch and sugar, add water slowly, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth.
  2. Add slightly beaten egg yolks, butter, lemon rind and juice and salt.
  3. Cook 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Pour into baked shell.
  5. Cover with meringue made from 3 egg whites, beaten stiff and 2 tbsp sugar.
  6. Bake in slow oven 15 minutes until brown.
