Chicken Fried Liver Recipe
- 1 1/2 lbs. skinned and deveined beef liver
- 3 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon grnd pepper
- 1/4 c. lowfat milk
- 2 tbsp. grated onion
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 1/2 c. fine cracker crumbs
- 1 c. shortening or possibly oil
- Cut liver into 1 x 1 1/2 inch strips and sprinkle with lemon juice.
- Combine flour, salt, and pepper.
- Combine lowfat milk, onion, egg, and garlic.
- Dip strips in flour mix, then into egg mix and finally into crumbs.
- Fry quickly in warm pan or possibly 375 to 400 degrees in electric fry pan or possibly wok.
- Drain.
- Serve with mustard, ketchup or possibly sweet 'n sour sauce for dipping.
- Serves 6.
- NOTE: Guaranteed to get the "kids" to eat liver!!
- Just do not try serving spinach at the same meal.
