Winter Spice Slow Cooker Snack Mix
- 2- 1/2 cups Mixed Nuts (I Used A Combination Of Planter's Winter Spiced Mix Nuts And Regular Salted Mixed Nuts)
- 3 cups Rice Squares Cereal (like Chex)
- 3 cups Corn Squares Cereal (like Chex)
- 2 cups Mini Pretzels
- 1- 1/2 cup Toasted O's Cereal (like Cheerios)
- 1/2 cups Unsalted Butter
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cups Honey
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoons Ground Cloves
- 1/2 teaspoons Ground Ginger
- 1/2 teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoons Fine Sea Salt
- 1/4 teaspoons Ground Cayenne Pepper
- Into the bowl of your slow cooker, add the mixed nuts, rice squares cereal, corn squares cereal, pretzels, and toasted os cereal.
- In a heavy bottomed saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Once melted, whisk in the brown sugar, honey, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg, salt and cayenne pepper until smooth and combined.
- Let it cook for 2-3 minutes and then remove from heat.
- Pour the sauce over the snack mix, and stir thoroughly until the snack mix is evenly coated.
- Cook on low for 3 hours, stirring every hour, so that the mix does not burn.
- Once cooked, pour the snack mix into an even layer onto a large baking sheet.
- Let it dry and cool completely.
- Serve or store in an airtight container for 2 weeks.
- Enjoy!
- Notes: 1.
- Please only cook on the lowest setting of your slow cooker.
- To go any higher, you will run the risk of burning the snack mix.
- 2.
- It is very important that you stir the snack mix every hour to ensure that it does not burn.
- 3.
- If you do not have a hole for ventilation in the lid of your slow cooker, place a kitchen towel in between the lid and the slow cooker itself.
- The snack mix can get soggy if it is not ventilated properly.
