Chili Sauce Or Salsa Recipe
- 6 lbs. ripe tomatoes (peeled and quartered)
- 2 red warm peppers (optional)
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 6 lg. onions (peeled and quartered)
- 1 1/2 tbsp. salt
- 2 c. vinegar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Grind or possibly chop fine the tomatoes and onions.
- Pour off excess liquid if you want sauce to be thick.
- Add in all this together in heavy saucepan, and cook on low heat for two hrs.
- Check occasionally and stir because of thickness and sticking to saucepan.
- Put in warm sterilized jars and seal.
- Good to eat with dry beans or possibly on warm dogs.
