Caramelized Onions
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) packed brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp (1 ml) salt
- 1/4 tsp (1 ml) freshly ground black pepper
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat.
- Add onion and saute until softened, 10 to 15 minutes.
- Add brown sugar and cook, stirring gently, until onion is caramelized, about 5 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper.
