Teriyaki Burdock Root with Sesame Seeds

  1. Wash the burdock root well, and shave into relatively large and thick pieces (If you don't like the skin, peel it off).
  2. Strain the excess water from Step 1, and coat with the katakuriko.
  3. It's easier if you put in a plastic bag and shake it.
  4. While you are straining the burdock root, mix all the ingredients to make the sauce, and set aside.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, and stir-fry Step 2 for 1 - 2 minutes.
  6. Swirl in the sauce from Step 3, mix in the roasted sesame seeds, and it's done.
