Take It Easy Pork Chops Recipe
- 6 pork chops, 1" thick
- 1 (1 1/2 ounce.) pkg. oven cooking bag & sauce mix for pork
- 2 c. uncooked twisted macaroni or possibly rotelle
- 2 onions, sliced
- 1 green pepper, seeded & cut in strips
- 2 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. ketchup
- 1/4 c. grated Parmesan or possibly Parmesan-Romano cheese
- 1.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Trim excess fat from pork chops, leaving about 1/4" fat on edge.
- 2.
- Form oven-cooking bag by closing one end with one twist tie provided.
- Place in a 1 1/2" to 2" deep large open roasting pan, big sufficient to prevent bag from extending over the sides.
- 3.
- Place macaroni in bottom of bag.
- Top with onions and green pepper.
- Arrange chops on top.
- 4.
- Blend sauce mix from package with water and ketchup; pour over chops.
- Sprinkle with cheese.
- Close bag with twist tie.
- Punch 4 small holes along top of bag.
- 5.
- Place pan in center of preheated oven so bag won't touch top or possibly sides of oven while cooking.
- Roast for 1 1/2 hrs.
- 6.
- Carefully remove pan from oven so which bag does not touch warm surfaces of oven.
- 7.
- Cut large circle from top of bag.
- Steam escapes, so be careful.
- Place chops on serving platter.
- Arrange onions, green pepper and macaroni around chops.
- Makes 4 to 6 servings.
- Or possibly use 1 (1 1/2 ounce.)
