Buttermilk Onion Rings With Grilled Tomato Aioli Dipping Sauce Recipe

  1. Combine buttermilk, flour, cayenne and salt in a large bowl till smooth.
  2. Soak the onion rings in the batter for 2 hrs in the refrigerator.
  3. Using side burner.
  4. Heat oil in a large saucepan to 375 degrees.
  5. In batches, remove onion rings from batter and dredge in the seasoned flour mix.
  6. Fry for 3 to 4 min or possibly till golden.
  7. Drain on paper towels and season immediately with salt.
  8. Serve with tomato aioli for dipping.
  9. Grilled Tomato Aioli: Place all ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth.
  10. Season with cayenne and salt.
  11. This recipe yields 4 servings.
