Whole Wheat Apple Nut Rolls Recipe

  1. In large bowl, stir together both flours.
  2. Heat lowfat milk till it almost boils, then stir into it the butter, honey, brown sugar and salt.
  3. Cold till lukewarm.
  4. Add in yeast to hot water and stir till dissolved; then add in it to hot lowfat milk mix.
  5. Stir liquid into flour mix, adding a little more flour if it is needed to make a thick, smooth batter.
  6. Cover and let stand in hot place till doubled in bulk (about 45 min).
  7. Stir batter down and fold in apple and nuts.
  8. Spoon equal quantities of batter into 18 muffin c.. Cover and let stand in hot place 30 min.
  9. Bake in preheated oven at 400 degrees for 20 min or possibly till nicely browned on top.
  10. Yield: 18 muffins.
