Dough-Wrapped Baked Asparagus Spears with Lemon Butter
- 16 ounces, weight Thin Asparagus, Tough Ends Trimmed, Rinsed And Dried
- 1/2 sticks Sweet Cream Butter, Melted
- 1 whole Fresh Lemon, Zest And Juice
- 8 ounces, weight Crescent Dough
- Grated Cheese For Garnish - Optional
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Prepare 2 nonstick baking sheets.
- Melt butter in the microwave.
- Add lemon zest and juice, stir well.
- Dust your work surface with flour and roll out crescent dough as thin as possible without breaking the dough.
- Cut strips.
- Wrap strips of dough around each asparagus spear, starting at the thicker end (see note below).
- Repeat with remaining asparagus and dough.
- Brush lemon butter over wrapped asparagus.
- Transfer to sheet pans and bake until golden brown, about 1214 minutes.
- Start checking at the 10-minute mark.
- Remove from oven, top with grated cheese if desired, and serve as an appetizer or side dish.
- These are delicious!
- Note: You will twist dough several times to cover asparagus from end to end but not completelyasparagus will still be visible.
