Dough-Wrapped Baked Asparagus Spears with Lemon Butter

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Prepare 2 nonstick baking sheets.
  2. Melt butter in the microwave.
  3. Add lemon zest and juice, stir well.
  4. Dust your work surface with flour and roll out crescent dough as thin as possible without breaking the dough.
  5. Cut strips.
  6. Wrap strips of dough around each asparagus spear, starting at the thicker end (see note below).
  7. Repeat with remaining asparagus and dough.
  8. Brush lemon butter over wrapped asparagus.
  9. Transfer to sheet pans and bake until golden brown, about 1214 minutes.
  10. Start checking at the 10-minute mark.
  11. Remove from oven, top with grated cheese if desired, and serve as an appetizer or side dish.
  12. These are delicious!
  13. Note: You will twist dough several times to cover asparagus from end to end but not completelyasparagus will still be visible.
