Ians Sausage and Apple Pie
- 6 ounces plain flour
- 1 12 ounces lard
- 1 12 ounces butter
- 1 pinch salt
- cold water, to mix
- 2 lbs cumberland sausage
- 2 cooking apples
- make the shortcrust pastry, i use a mixer as easier than doing it by hand.
- line a 2llb loaf tin with 3/4 of the prepared pastry and blind bake for 10 minutes.
- skin the sausage and place in tin .
- then peal and chop apple up and stew in a little water for 3 minutes.
- put on top off sausage meat in loaf tin.
- top the pie with the remaining pastry then glaze with beaten egg and cook in oven for 30 mins.
- gas4.
- 350f 180c.
