Orange-Cranberry Walnut Cake

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine cranberries, nuts, brown sugar and 1/2 the zest; set aside.
  2. Beat butter in large bowl with mixer 1 min.
  3. Gradually add granulated sugar, beating well after each addition.
  4. Beat 5 min.
  5. or until light and fluffy.
  6. Add cream cheese and remaining zest; beat 1 min.
  7. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each.
  8. Add combined dry ingredients; beat 1 min.
  9. or until well blended.
  10. Pour into greased 9-inch square pan; top with cranberry mixture.
  11. Bake 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean.
  12. Cool completely.
