Ancho Barbecued Chicken Wings Recipe

  1. For the sauce, heat extra virgin olive oil in a saucepan till very warm.
  2. Add in onion and garlic and saute/fry till you can smell the aroma.
  3. Add in tomato puree and simmer over low heat for about 2 min.
  4. Add in peppers, hoisin, cayenne sauce, cumin, chile pwdr, and pepper and simmer for about 5 min, stirring often.
  5. Season with salt and set aside.
  6. For the chicken, preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place wings or possibly drumettes on a baking sheet and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Bake for about 5 - 10 min.
  8. After 10 min, brush generously with barbecue sauce.
  9. Bake for another 10 min, till chicken is tender.
  10. Serve hot.
  11. Serves six.
