Cheesy Italian Sloppy Joes

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onion, garlic, green bell pepper, celery and oregano and basil.
  3. Saute for 5 minutes, or until onion is tender.
  4. In the same skillet with the veggies over medium high heat, combine ground beef and sausage and saute for 10 minutes, or until well browned.
  5. Add tomatoes, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar and mix well.
  6. Continue to cook until liquid reduces by half.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Place a slice of provolone on each roll top with meat then top with mozzarella.
  9. Place sandwiches in a 13x9 baking dish.
  10. Bake at 350 degrees F until bread is crusty and cheese is melted.
