Stuffed Whole Wheat Bread
- 1 loaf Frozen Bread Dough, Thawed
- 2 Tablespoons Dried Dill Weed
- 2 Tablespoons Sesame Seeds
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 12 ounces, weight Ground Turkey
- 1/4 cups Chopped Green Onion, With Tops
- 13 cups Pesto Sauce
- 1/4 cups Fine Bread Crumbs
- 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese With Chives
- 5 ounces, weight Frozen Spinach, Thawed And Drained
- Note: prep time depends on whether you use a frozen loaf of dough or make it homemade.
- I prefer to make my bread in my bread machine rather than use frozen, but if you are pressed for time, use a frozen loaf.
- Just simply roll the sesame seeds and dill into it.
- If youd like to use homemade, then use any wheat dough recipe, adding the dill and sesame seeds in with the other ingredients.
- Check out my blog link above for the yummy bread recipe I use.
- 1.
- In a skillet, heat the oil.
- Cook the turkey and green onions until turkey is cooked through.
- Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients, stirring till well combined.
- 2.
- Roll out bread dough to form a 12 x 9 rectangle.
- Spoon filling down the center in about a 3 wide strip.
- 3.
- Make 1 slits down each side of the bread, right up to the filling.
- Moisten the ends of each slit and alternate folding them over each other at an angle.
- 4.
- Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
- (I preheat my oven to 200 degrees, turn it off and let the bread rise in the oven.)
- 5.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Brush tops with butter.
- Serve with a crisp green salad or other veggie of choice.
