Fried Green Tomato Lasagna

  1. In a sauce pan, combine the first 7 ingredients and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Reduce heat and cover for an hour.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Preheat oven to 350F.
  5. In a large skillet, melt butter.
  6. Dip the green tomato slices in the flour, then brown in the skillet on both sides.
  7. Drain on paper towels.
  8. In a greased 13 x 9 pan, put some of the tomato sauce down, then the fried green tomatoes, and then sprinkle with some parmesan.
  9. Repeat.
  10. Top with the remaining sauce, parmesan, and mozzarella.
  11. Bake at 350F, uncovered, for 15 to 20 minutes.
  12. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
