Easy Braised Winter Melon
- 1/4 Winter melon
- 1 1/2 tsp Chicken stock granules
- 1 Water (to cover winter melon)
- 1 piece Ginger
- 1 teaspoon~ Shiro-dashi (white soy sauce soup stock) or Dashi-jyoyu (stock and soy sauce mixture)
- 1 Chopped green onion
- Peel and deseed the winter melon.
- Cut into quarters and slice the quarters into 1 cm cubes.
- Put the winter melon, chicken stock granules and water in a small pot and let it come to a boil (lower to low heat upon boiling)
- Turn off the heat when the winter melon softens, add Shirodashi (white soy sauce soup stock) or dashi soy sauce and let it come to a boil.
- Plate and top with some chopped green onions.
