Bird Pies Recipe

• Suet, 2 to 3 c. melted
• Peanut butter
• Yellow corn meal
• sunflower seed
• Regular bird seed
• Finely cracked corn
• Bread crumbs, bought and unspiced
• Raisins
• Finely minced nuts
• Finely grnd egg shells
• Brown sugar, approximately 1/4 c.

1. Chop or possibly shave suet and place in a large metal saucepan.
2. Heat, stirring constantly, understanding which some will remain semi solid.
3. Don't allow to smoke.
4. Remove from heat.
5. Add in peanut butter and dissolve.
6. Then add in other ingredients alternately till the mix is the consistency of oatmeal.
7. Pour into pie pans and cold.
8. Store in the freezer.
9. Recycle your mesh onion bags by placing a bird pie inside and hang outside for the birds.
10. Feed mainly in winter, lest the mix spoil in hot weather.
11. Note...rinse your eggshells and let dry completely.
12. Place in a double plastic bag and crush finely with a rolling pin and save for future use.
