Rich Beef and Barley Soup
- 1 12 lbs stew meat, bite size cubes
- 1 cup sliced carrot
- 1 cup sliced celery
- 1 onion, diced (1 1/2 cup)
- 12 cup green pepper, chopped
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup spaghetti sauce
- 23 cup pearl barley
- dried basil
- salt and pepper
- Brown beef in a skillet 1/2 at a time.
- Drain well.
- Mix everything in crock pot.
- Cover and cook on low 9-10 hours or 4 1/2-5 hours on high.
