Chicken Stew (Mancunian and Economical)

  1. heat oil in large pan add leeks and onions fry for about 5 minutes on medium heat.
  2. add garlic fry for 2 more minutes, add pototoes stir well, turn heat low and stir cover and sweat for 5 minutes.
  3. add water stock cubes and barley and carotts, chicken and thyme, bring to boil simmer for 40 mins striiing occaisonally.
  4. season with salt and pepper add a dash of cream if you want serve with bread.
