Texas Brownie Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 400F (200C).
  2. Sift flour, soda and salt.
  3. Add to sugar.
  4. Combine butter, cocoa, and water in saucepan.
  5. Bring to boil over medium heat.
  6. Pour over flour, sugar mixture while hot and beat well.
  7. Add milk, eggs, and vanilla.
  8. Beat well.
  9. Pour into a large cookie sheet (11x17 inch).
  10. Batter will be thin.
  11. Bake at 400F (200C) for 15 to 20 minutes.
  12. (I like to use an oblong cake pan greased and bake it at 375F (190C) for 30 minutes.)
  13. After cooled, combine 1 stick of butter, cocoa and milk in sauce pan bring to a boil.
  14. Add powdered sugar, vanilla and beat well.
  15. Pour over top of cake and top with chopped pecans.
  16. Note: You can also bake the cake in individual cake pans or cake molds.
