Date Apricot Bread Recipe
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 4 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
- 1 c. ready to eat bran
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 c. buttermilk
- 1/4 c. butter, melted
- 1/2 c. prepared dry apricots - cover with boiling water - drain.
- 1/2 c. sliced pitted dates
- 1/2 c. minced walnuts
- Sift the flour, baking pwdr, soda and salt together.
- Stir in sugar and bran.
- Beat egg till lemon colored, stir in buttermilk and butter.
- Add in dry ingredients, stir just till moistened.
- Mix in apricots, dates and walnuts.
- Bake in greased 9x5x3 pan, 350 degrees, 1 hour or possibly till tester comes out clean.
- Cold, slice 1/4 inch thick.
