smokey,shrimp and sweet potato chowder

  1. heat a large pot or dutch oven over medium high heat for 1 or 2 minutes,add oil and swirl to coat.
  2. add onions, garlic,sweet potatoes,paprika and chili powder, saute for 5 minutes
  3. remove pot from heat and add wine,scrapping up any brown bits from the pan.
  4. return pot to heat.
  5. and reduce heat to medium low,add chicken stock,cover and simmer for another 5-8 minutes,until sweet potatoes are tender
  6. add shrimp and cream,combine well and simmer until shrimp are just done, approximatley 5 minutes.

extra virgin olive oil, onion, sweet potatoes, clove garlic, sweet paprika, cilii powder, chardonay, chicken stock, shrimp, heavy cream
