Butter Toffee Crunch

  1. Measure cereal and peanuts into a large bowl and set aside.
  2. Melt butter over medium high heat.
  3. Add Karo syrup and brown sugar.
  4. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
  5. Allow to boil until mixture looks foamy on top and is about double in volume; this takes about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the baking soda.
  7. Working quickly, pour the toffee mixture over the cereal and stir to coat.
  8. Spread out on a cookie sheet to cool.
  9. When cool, break into pieces and enjoy!
