Orange lavender poached pears

  1. Add all ingredients other than pears and mint to a pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Stir mixture to dissolve sugar completely.
  3. Add pears and lower heat.
  4. Simmer for 45 minutes, turning pears as needed to ensure even cooking and coating.
  5. Remove pears carefully and set aside.
  6. Remove lavender and other spices by straining liquid.
  7. Continue to cook and reduce sauce until thick enough to coat back of spoon.
  8. Pour sauce over the pears and garnish with mint.
