- 1 Egg
- 100 grams Butter
- 1/2 teapooon Baking soda
- 2 tbsp Barley tea
- 1 dash Vanilla essence
- Finely chop the barley tea till it's powder-like (It's even easier if you use a coffee grinder).
- Next in a bowl in which you've let the butter return to room temperature, mix the sugar in till it has a cream-like consistency.
- Now take what you made in Step 2 and mix in the egg and vanilla essence.
- Next, sift in the flour and baking powder.
- Once it's roughly been mixed together, mix in the barley flour.
- Form the dough into round shapes an arrange them on parchment paper (leave plenty of space in between because they will expand).
- Bake them in a preheated oven at 180C for 10 minutes.
- Once they are golden brown as pictured below, they are done.
