Braided Egg Bread Recipe
- 3/4 c. Natrel Lactose Free Lowfat milk
- 2 x egg, beaten
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- 3 c. all purpose flour
- 3 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp bread machine yeast
- Add in ingredients to bread machine according to manufacturer's directions.
- Select "dough" cycle.
- Remove dough to floured surface.
- Punch down; cover and let rest 5 min.
- Divide into 3 sections.
- Roll each into a 18" (45 cm) long rope.
- Braid the ropes together on a baking sheet.
- Cover with a tea towel.
- Let rise in hot place (85F/29oC) till doubled, about 30 min.
- BAKE at 350F (180C) on middle oven rack for 20 to 25 min, or possibly till golden brown.
- Remove from baking sheet immediately, cold on wire rack.
- Tip:For an attractive finish, brush dough with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds just before baking.
- Prepare dough in a bread machine and finish in a conventional oven for the traditional braided shape or possibly complete in the machine for the same great taste.
