Glazed Apple Dumplings Recipe
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tbsp. cheese, grated
- 6 tbsp. shortening
- 1 c. thin cream
- 3 apples
- Sift together flour, baking pwdr and salt.
- Add in cheese.
- Cut in shortening till mix resembles coarse meal.
- Add in gradually cream and mix lightly with fork.
- Form into a ball.
- Roll out dough to about 1/8 inch thickness.
- Cut into ten 6 inch rounds.
- Pare apples; slice thin.
- Place apple slices on each round dough.
- Sprinkle each round with a Tbsp.
- of sugar and 1/8 tsp.
- nutmeg.
- Moisten edges of dough; bring edges together and seal at top.
- Place in 15x10x2 inch pan.
- Pour 1/2 c. lowfat milk and 1/4 c. water over dumplings.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 40 to 45 min.
- Serve with hot brown-sugar sauce.
