Ribs & Kraut For Crockpot

  1. Rinse and drain sauerkraut in a collander.
  2. Rinse well with cold water.
  3. Squeeze excess water out with hands.
  4. Place in crockpot.
  5. Add 2 tb.
  6. flour and the 1/2 cup wine or dry vermouth.
  7. Mix with fork.
  8. Put the ribs on top of the sauerkraut.
  9. Season with pepper.
  10. Cook on low setting 6 to 12 hours, or less on high setting.
  11. Variation - Add sliced peeled apples to the saurkraut.
  12. Also can substitute pork chops for ribs.
  13. May wish to brown first, if fatty.
