Black Bean and Rice Soup.

  1. sort and clean beans.
  2. soak.
  3. fill large pot with a lot of water.
  4. put on med hi and put the ham bone inches.
  5. chop onion and add to water.
  6. season water.
  7. add beans.
  8. boil 2 hours or so.
  9. season to taste as they boil.
  10. as the beans become almost cooked add rice and bring to a boil, add water if needed.
  11. cover and simmer for twenty minutes until the rice is cooked through.
  12. enjoy!
  13. We ate cornbread with this -- TASTY!
