Light Chocolate Almond Cookies
- 1 14 cups shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 23 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 14 cups flour
- 12 cup hershey's low-fat cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chipits milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup slivered almonds
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Cream shortening, sugars, eggs, milk and vanilla in a large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer until creamy, about 1 minute.
- Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt.
- Add to creamed mixture.
- Beat at low speed until blended.
- Stir in chips and nuts.
- Drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake at 350F for 10-12 minutes.
- Cool slightly.
- Remove to cooling rack.
