Flavorful Swiss Steak
- 2 lb. round steak
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup oil
- bacon drippings
- 2 cans (8 oz. each) tomato sauce
- 2 cups warm water
- 2 lg. onions
- 2 carrots, grated
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- Cut steak into serving pieces.
- Mix flour, salt and pepper; pound into steak.
- Brown steak in oil or bacon drippings on both sides.
- Mix remaining ingredients; heat to boiling.
- Pour sauce over steak.
- Bake at 350F for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
