Chicken in a Pot
- 3 lb. whole chicken
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 onions, sliced
- 2 celery stalks with leaves, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 tsp. basil
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- wine
- Put carrots, onions, and celery in bottom of crockpot.
- Add whole chicken.
- Top with salt, pepper, liquid.
- Sprinkle basil over top.
- Cover and cook until done: 8 to 10 hours on low, 3 to 4 hours on high using one cup water.
- Remove chicken and vegetables with spatula.
