A Versatile Green Broccoli-Rabe Pasta Sauce

  1. Place the broccoli rabe in a five-quart casserole.
  2. Toss with the olive oil and crushed red-pepper flakes.
  3. Cover tightly with microwave plastic wrap.
  4. Cook at 100 percent power in a high-power oven for 10 minutes.
  5. Prick plastic to release steam.
  6. Remove from oven and uncover.
  7. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  8. Toss with cooked and drained pasta.
