Basil Gimlet
- 5 basil leaves, plus 1 small basil sprig for garnish
- 1 ounce fresh lime juice
- 2 1/4 ounces London dry gin, such as Martin Miller's
- 1 ounce Simple Syrup
- Drop of celery bitters
- Ice
- In a cocktail shaker, gently muddle the basil leaves with the lime juice, then add the gin, Simple Syrup and celery bitters.
- Fill the shaker with ice and shake well.
- Fine strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with the basil sprig.
